In recent months, an appearance from Syd tha Kyd of the Internet has been a near-guarantee of a song’s quality. Her 2016 resume includes standout cameos on Common’s Black America Again, Kaytranada’s 99%, and now the first single from Kingdom’s cleverly-titled  Tears in the Club. Kingdom has a solid reputation in the electronic bass scene, but the L.A. producer is still best known for his work on R&B chanteuse Kelela’s 2013 album Cut 4 Me.  Regardless, fans of Syd will appreciate this blurry and melancholy track. Tears in the Club drops February 17.
